ALIA is an acclaimed original Electronic Music Producer and DJ from the Sf Bay Area. For 15+ years has toured globally bringing her unique healing journeys to dance floors on many continents. She has performed at festivals including Wanderlust, Envision, Lucidity, SoulPlay, Enchanted Forest, Beloved, and Imagine and she has been a resident of Ecstatic Dance Bay Area since its first year.. ALIA has released two original albums, remixes, and her music is featured on soundtracks.

Every JAMeeSHKA show pulses with raw vocal power, positivity, and poetry on a number of subjects ranging from love, desire, and loss to invocations of personal power, devotion, and magic—but more than anything, they're a call to unity.

James Caran Bio
James Caran was the first kid on the block to own a four-track. Before he could read, he could cut a blues album playing all the instruments himself. Today—hand him an obscure and oblong-shaped artifact, tell him it's a musical instrument, and within an hour he'll be playing it proficiently. Next week he'll be recording it to analog tape.

But James doesn't just make great music. He fosters it. He creates the circumstances wherein music happens. And he does so not simply with his own virtuosic skill, but by bringing great musicians together and letting their uniqueness enrich the groundwork he's laid—producing mixes and engineering sound in multiple different formats and environments for and with countless acts the world over. He has collaborated with some fine folks, establishments, and organizations such as The Roots, Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock, Coldplay, Naturally Seven, Diana Ross, Michael Bublé, Taj Mahal, the Budokan, Arseneo Hall, Jay Leno, Madison Square Garden, New Orleans Jazz Festival, and The White House. And when he’s not throwin’ down for giant arenas, he’s gettin’ down in the dust on such projects and phenomena as Feed The Artists, Living Pulse, Sacred Spaces, Wagonistas, Jimmy Dies of Dysentery, ManiFest Destiny, Monticello, the DoDo, Red Lightning, and The Soundcave.

As a man of many talents—singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, director, sound engineer, technician, teacher, and creator of countless recording studios, stages, and performance venues across every continent on the globe except Antarctica and the North Pole—all these wildly creative hats he wears are possibly boiled down to just three words: Sound Escape Artist.

Ishka Lha Bio
Historically known as a trailblazer in the visionary art movement for her renowned mystical paintings, Ishka Lha has been more recently creating and sharing original music pieces, some conjuring counterparts to her visual works and beyond, with her latest music project, JAMeeSHKA, in collaboration with singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist, James Caran.

Making music has been an integral part of Ishka’s healing and creative practice since she was a little girl. She grew up singing in church, was often found crooning improvised songs to animals on her family’s farm, and later excelled in choral groups and recitals as a teenager. In addition to early training on piano, she later played flute and clarinet in her high school jazz band. She also grew up playing lead roles in her community’s yearly theater productions, and enjoyed a stint in professional education in television. Alongside visual art, music and stage performance have always been at the heart of Ishka’s creative wheelhouse.

Ishka eventually began writing her own songs, and started sharing them in community and ceremony as companions to her visual art. Soon after, her live musical duo, JAMeeSHKA, hit the stage with unique multi-media musical experiences and site specific journeys, featuring both composed and improvised pieces. Carried by childlike faith and a lover’s passion, Ishka’s lyrics and vocals are wild, soulful, and empowering, yet delicate, angelic, and prayerful— a perceptive coalescence that breathes light into the aching heart.

Justin Ancheta and Maren Metke have musical nectar flowing through their veins. The dynamic Grass Valley duo is the driving force behind a project that is even sweeter than it sounds. Honey of the Heart is an ambrosial mix of musical interpretations influenced by folk, soul, roots, and world/flamenco styles. Built upon a repertoire of uplifting original material, they join together, or with other phenomenal musicians to create in an organic state of symbiosis. Many of their songs come forth like ancient incantations, casting angelic spells on all in their path. Honey of the Heart weaves soaring harmonies and hypnotic polyrhythms into an alchemical semblance of groove intended for dancing, rejoicing, and blissful recalibration.Justin and Maren formed the group, Honey of the Heart, to inspire and connect people with their voices, melodies, and world rhythms.

Based in Northern California with strong roots in the Bay Area, Seattle. Their music gets as intimate as just vocals and Ukulele, to as large as a twelve-piece band with a horn section, multiple percussionists, and DJ.

Their live shows emote a sweet nectar of sounds that can bring people to personal revelation, and community awareness, and uplift the power of joy in our hearts.

Maren Metke is a vocalist, songwriter and instrumentalist performing across the US and beyond. Justin Ancheta is a guitarist, vocalist and multi instrumentalist and Internationally acclaimed touring musician. They joined forces in 2014. Both strong composers & performers, they tour as a duo as well as full band.

Bio

Lindsay Bellows and Ananda Vaughan have found the perfect complements in each other: Lindsay is a soulful songbird, who soars and dives over the lush textures of Ananda's musical landscapes. Equal parts groove and melody, their songs take audiences on a journey from solitude to connection, despair to hope, and the mundane to the mystical.

Ananda and Lindsay are storytellers, spirit callers, and songhealers on a mission to open a field of magic through music in which anything is possible. Live looping makes possible the intricate vocal harmonies and instrumental compositions that underlie spellbinding melodies and transcendent guitar solos. Sometimes bluesy and rocking, sometimes soft and ethereal, the sounds never fail to provide us with powerful medicine for the moment.

Ananda trained for many years as a jazz guitarist, and has found inspiration in other guitar masters from rock, folk and world music. Lindsay grew up with pop and R&B music, and studied the influencers of her childhood idols -- the soul and blues singers of the mid 20th century. The pair brings together the best of all these genres to create a sound that is authentically and uniquely their own.

Ananda and Lindsay have had the privilege of sharing stages with some awesome friends and musicians including: Ayla Nereo, Wildlight, the Polish Ambassador, Peia, Deya Dova, Mariee Sioux, Handmade Moments, Sasha Rose, Shimshai, Sara Tone, and Blues Traveller; and have performed at festivals alongside other amazing dears like Fanna-Fi-Allah, Yaima, MaMuse, Marya Stark, and Elijah Ray.

When they're not touring, recording, or rehearsing for BrightSide Blue, Ananda works as a music teacher, guitarist, and producer. Lindsay is a voice coach and facilitates women's singing circles.

Her latest endeavor is a folktronica DJ act utilizing live instrumental elements, creating an immersive, danceable and genre-bending experience for listeners. Briana’s versatility has made her a sought-after collaborator, with recent tours and collaborations alongside renowned acts such as Dirtwire, Yaima, Kr3ture, Bloomurian, Akriza and Beats Antique. Known for her improvisational skill and ability to breathe new life into every performance, Briana continues to push boundaries and captivate diverse audiences with her innovative approach to music.

Gillian Grassie is an award-winning writer, musician, and coach based in Los Angeles.
Traveling the world with her harp on her back and her heart on her sleeve, she has sold out listening rooms from Sicily to Siberia with a contemporary sound that critics have called “soulful… ravishing… dazzling” (Philadelphia Magazine). She cites Joni Mitchell, Billie Holiday, Björk, Patty Griffin, Radiohead and Portishead among her eclectic influences.

Gillian delights in bringing the Celtic harp to unexpected spaces and is as comfortable performing at a private gala for HRH Prince Albert of Monaco as she is opening for punk-cabaret artist Amanda Palmer or entertaining a TEDx audience at The NY Times Center, once even playing on a moving train car in Mumbai. Grammy-winner Marc Cohn called himself, "an instant Gillian Grassie fan," observing, “it’s rare to hear a young singer with such control and understated soulfulness, and even more rare to hear a harp provide such a deep percussive groove. I was immediately captivated by her sound.”

As much a storyteller as she is an artist, Gillian studied Comparative Literature & Creative Writing at Bryn Mawr College, and her music is often inspired by literary works, with references to Philip Larkin, Robert Frost, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, William Faulkner, folktales and myths woven throughout. Over the years, she has expanded to other forms of empathetic narrative. She has ghostwritten two memoirs, including a Publishers Weekly Bestseller, and later became a WGA screenwriter. An episode of the AppleTV+ series “Best Foot Forward” she wrote with comedian Zach Anner was honored by the Norman Lear Center with a 2023 Sentinel Award for its humanizing portrayal of disability.

Much of Gillian’s work is focused on the beautiful and complicated experience of being a spirit in a body, and the nuanced relational space between humans. She calls herself “an avid void-spelunker” and her pursuit of deep, authentic connection, compassionate truth, and self-sovereignty has led her to become a facilitator of a relational meditation practice and certified coach. The containers she creates are spacious, warm, and grounded.

Gillian enjoys elaborate baking projects, dancing Argentine tango, and is a besotted dog-mom her pitbull rescue, Liadain.
